Letter from the Vicar

This is a difficult time for our community and the whole of our country. Many of us are anxious and uncertain of what the future holds. Despite everyone’s concerns I know that many of you are making huge efforts to support one another and the most vulnerable members of our village community; this demonstrates what we value most about where we live, the wonderful spirit and love of our neighbours. I want to assure you that prayers are being offered in the churches and thanksgiving is being made for all that each of you are doing. The churches remain open but unfortunately we have had to suspend all services, instead I will be praying in the churches at the times of the normal services and if you have any special prayer requests please leave these in the baskets provided in the churches.

This Sunday is Mothering Sunday, so we would like to offer families posies of flowers. We invite a member of each family to come to St Peter’s Church to collect a posy to leave on the doorstep of a family member who is isolated or to a neighbour. The posies will be available to collect from the Church on Sunday morning.

I know you will continue the wonderful efforts you have already made in the fight against the threat of this virus; we can therefore be hopeful in each other and the generous community spirit of our villages. If you want to talk to me please do not hesitate to call me on 07823 809 112. I will pray for you all, for our Government and especially for those who work in our health and emergency services.

God’s blessing to you,

Teresa
