title="Baldons Parish Council in Oxfordshire">

From your MP October 2024

From Olly Glover MP for Didcot and Wantage

Life in Westminster and our constituency continues to be a hive of activity as I’ve now completed my 3rd month as your MP. I’ve had the opportunity to raise questions including at Prime Minister’s Question Time and contact ministers regarding matters important to you. Some of our residents will be affected by the government’s withdrawal of the winter fuel payment. I voted against the withdrawal of the payment, and I will continue to fight for those least able to bear this cut in their income.

It has been a real pleasure  to meet many constituents since becoming your MP and I have been able to provide support with local concerns. The Baldons and Nuneham Courtenay may be new additions to our constituency but are just as important as all our other towns, villages and communities. I know there are concerns shared by many of you regarding the cost of living, healthcare and the NHS - especially access to GPs, the support for carers, transport and travel infrastructure, housing, water and sewage and schools, especially the provision for children with special needs. I will continue to work with local councillors and agencies on your behalf at a local level, including how to resolve the flooding issues we have recently experienced.

In the summer I joined the National Farmers Union to celebrate the hard worker of farmers and growers at their Back British Farming Day. I am proud to celebrate and support the terrific work of our local farmers! I also joined the Be Free Young Carers at their summer event, and also mentioned their tremendous work at our party conference.

My team here in Oxfordshire and Westminster continues to grow and provides support for all our constituents. Please contact me if I can help, or if you would like me to attend a local event or meet with a local organisation. My parliamentary email address is olly.glover.mp@parliament.uk

I continue to look forward to meeting as many as of you as possible,

Best wishes

Olly.
